NIE (Número de Identidad de Extranjero)
This is the identification number allocated to a person from outside of Spain. This number is required for almost all Spanish forms, utilities etc. It give the person no rights of residency. We can help you apply for this number by completing the application form, advising what supporting documents you need and even accompany you to the appropriate office to make the application.
Residency Card
In Spain you are required to carry with you photographic identification at all times. Spaniards all have their DNI cards, for foreigners living in Spain rather than carrying your passport with you at all times it is more convenient to obtain a residency card. To apply for the residency card you will first need your NIE number and once you have this then all you need to do is complete the application form and take it to your nearest office with the required documents. You will be asked to give a fingerprint and then come back in a month to collect the card. If you need any help with this then we can of course take you through the process.
